š Dropping Domains (Monday, Jan. 30)
Your new dedicated domain name newsletter, where Richard Patey and now Sean Markey pick aged, brandable and one-word domains on the aftermarket, for building websites out on
Hi there š,
Welcome to the new Dropping Domains (formerly part of Acquire Websites)!
As some of you already know, Iām now building out a network of newsletters on Substack in the business, investing and web3 niches at ACQUIRE.GG.
Here is the current offering:
Iād burn out fast trying to run 6+ newsletters by myself, so I needed to team up with experts to help drive them.
And there is no one better I know in the SEO domain space than Sean Markey who has written all of todayās email.
As such his name (or face on mobile) is first as author of this post, but the email āfrom nameā came from me so youād recognize that Iāve split this domains newsletter off from Acquire Websites (niche down until it hurts right). Going forward, it will alternate between me and Sean.
Seeing as domains drop 24/7, please vote on how often you would like to receive this newsletter:
And if youāre a brand in the domain space interested in sponsoring this newsletter, just hit reply or email richard[at]acquire.gg.
Ok, take it away Sean!
Cheers!
Hello š!Sean Markey here, teaming up with Richard for a very familiar domain newsletter.
Since this is our first time meeting, let me introduce myself.
I frequently describe myself as āan SEO with a domain name problem,ā so who better to talk at you constantly about stupid domain names? Specifically, domains that have some juice and also that might make a great brand for a site.
Iāve specialized in acquiring and building on aged domains since 2015, and have sold upper six-figures worth of affiliate sites in that time.
I write for Domain Name Wire as well as Odys.
Hopefully that gives me some kind of street cred when it comes to domains and SEO.
One last thing:
I write a longform SEO newsletter called Rank Theory and you can check that out here. Its free to subscribe so you DEFINITELY should.
With that out of the way, here are todayās names at auction, and why you might consider grabbing them.
GoDaddy
All of these end Monday Jan, 30th. Thatās TODAY, so donāt wait to check these outā¦
GoodFriday.com - current bid $9,600
Not really an SEO playā¦ but a really great domain that you could absolutely build a solid site on. The kind of domain name thatāll open doors for you. Probably wonāt come cheap thoughā¦
CryptoCars.me - current bid $3,333
What the fuck is a Crypto Car? I assume some kind of ill-fated NFT project, but thatās just a guess. This domain has some juice though:
Look at that traffic!
Itās fairly worthless, as far as keywords go, but such big traffic is a good sign for an expiring domain. I think itās mostly in Brazil, but this is still a domain to pay attention toā¦
BioHackInfo.com - current bid $2,500
Another domain with some keywordsāthis time around bio hacking soā¦ a much better niche, and ranking for some lucid-dreaming related terms.
Currently low-four-figures.
CultureMalta.org - current bid $1,225
Good news if you are looking to create a niche site about Maltaā¦
Lots of names today ranking for keywords still (which is the #1 metric I look for when grabbing a name).
DropCatch
Stamps.net - current bid $2,999
Only a DR 7, but a pretty strong domain name (even if itās a .net). Stamps.com makes a gajillion dollars now, so you probably shouldnāt try to compete directly with them. But the market is pretty large and this one has a bunch of very niche relevant backlinksā¦
BlockchainFrance.net - current bid $2,800
A second crypto name on the list!? What is this, 2018?
As powerful domains goā¦ this is not really one of them. Itās a DR 0, it has 8 links.
iHeartChaos.com - current bid $74
A DR 36 with some big, powerful media company backlinks. Looks like it used to be aā¦ blog? Itās picked up almost 2000 referring domains, so SOMEONE is gonna want this thingā¦

Future editions will occasionally include a name I find on Odys that I think could make a good site, but weāll start with those another time.
Cheers!
